Visitors who are blind or have low vision

Viewfinders which pinpoint different landmarks are located around the observation deck on level 88, these might be helpful for guests with low vision as they magnify the field of vision brining distant landmarks into clearer view. If you require assistance on the day of your visit, please let us know ahead of your visit and our team may be able to guide you through our site where available.

Visitor who are deaf and hard of hearing

We are developing written guides that provide clear step by step information about the Melbourne Skydeck experiences.  These guides support visitors who are D/deaf or hard of hearing by offering an alternative to spoken commentary.

Carers and Companions

A person accompanying someone with a disability, who holds a valid WeCare, Carer Card or Companion Card, is entitled to free General Admission to the attraction. Please present the card upon arrival.

Peak and off-peak periods

Melbourne Skydeck can become busy during peak periods such as weekends, school holidays and late afternoons when visitors arrive for sunset views. During these times, queues may be longer, and the observation deck can feel crowded and noisier.

For visitors who would prefer a calmer experience, we recommend planning your visit during off-peak times. This is generally early afternoons outside of school holidays. Visiting at these times can make moving around the venue easier and reduce sensory load for those who may find crowds or noise overwhelming.

If you would like support planning your visit for a quieter time, please contact our team in advance at [email protected] or call (03) 9693 8888.

Considerations during your visit

Lighting: The observation deck is bright during the day with natural light and can feel dimmer in the evenings. Certain experiences, such as the Voyager Theatre, use low lighting and immersive visuals.

Sounds: Background music and general crowd noise may be present, especially during busy times. Some experiences like the Voyager Theatre and the Edge include louder sound effects.

Lifts: High-speed lifts take you to Level 88 in under 40 seconds. Due to the rapid ascent, some visitors may notice their ears popping from the change in air pressure.

Food and Drink: Bar 88 is located on the observation deck, offering light snack food and drink options during your visit.
